Inverness Lakeside Birding Class

Thanks to our Inverness Lakeside trail we have a unique opportunity to observe, up close, an amazing variety of birds. We often walk, jog or bicycle right by them and yet by getting to know the birds we can greatly enhance our outdoor experience.
Citrus County Audubon Society is offering a series of 3 educational birding classes focusing on the basics of birding. We welcome interested folks of all ages to get outside with us and enjoy our Florida birds. The classes will be held on Saturday Oct 15, Nov19 and Dec 17, 2011.
All three classes start at Wallace Brooks Park. While walking along the lake and boardwalk our focus will be on basic bird identification skills. We will continue to build upon this basic knowledge as we continue to learn and practice additional I.D. skills and more birds in the second and third classes.
These classes are led by CCAS member Eileen Riccio.

Preregistration is recommended:

Meet at Wallace Brooks parking lot (see map link below) at 9:00 am sharp. Class begins with a brief introduction of the Audubon Society—who we are and what we do. An introduction to binocular basics—what type, how to focus, and how to use to your best advantage—will help prepare you for an exciting world of visual discovery.
We will walk about a mile and a half. Wear sturdy shoes and bring binoculars, water, and a hat or visor. If you have any questions about the Inverness Lakeside Birding Classes please contact Eileen Riccio at elriccio@yahoo.com
